England reach Women's World Cup final after beating Australia

England have reached the Women's World Cup final for the first time in their history after beating Australia 3-1 in the semi-finals.

Ella Toone, Alessia Russo and Alessia Russo scored the goals for England, while Australia's only goal came from Sam Kerr.

The match was played in front of a sell-out crowd at Stadium Australia in Sydney, and was a tense and exciting affair from start to finish.

England took the lead in the 19th minute when Toone fired home from close range after being set up by Rachel Daly.

Australia equalised in the 38th minute through Kerr, but England regained the lead just before half-time when Russo headed home from a corner.

Russo made it 3-1 in the 57th minute with a brilliant individual goal, and England held on to secure their place in the final.

They will now face Spain in the final on Sunday, 20 August.
